EVO350 Open Aspect Short Rise Platform Lift - Folkestone

Client:

St Heliers Residential Hotel offers long-term retirement, respite care and short breaks overlooking the glorious cliffs and coastline of Folkestone in Kent.

Problem:

The elegant building is formed from two large mid-Victorian houses. During a major refit in 2003 St Heliers’ owners took the opportunity to install an external lift to help improve access and independence for its elderly residents who were finding the existing steps difficult to negotiate. Unfortunately, in 2009, when the lift broke down, owner Jaqui Cradock discovered that the company who installed it no longer existed and consequently no spare parts were available, nor service contract in place.

A frustrating day and a half search for a replacement lift revealed that there wasn’t an access lift supplier who could install a new lift in less than three months. That was until she found Evolifts! Within ten minutes of her initial call to Steve Coak at Evolifts, Ms Cradock received confirmation that she would be able to have a new lift installed within four weeks. Following a speedy site visit, the specification and costing were confirmed and order placed.

Solution:

EVO Lifts supplied and installed an EVO350 Short Rise Platform Lift. Specified where there is a level change of up to three metres. This stainless steel lift, which is suitable for internal and external wheelchair access, offers a fast and easy-to-install solution. For the user, it is simple and safe to operate with features such as an integral ramp and anti-slip flooring. And for the owner, low maintenance and minimal running costs make it an attractive option.
